Magic use and skills are also nicely incorporated into its fighting system. For folks used to the clunkier gameplay of Dark Souls or even the "Monster Hunter" series, however, Lords of the Fallen will be like mana from the gaming gods. Gameplay might feel sluggish for folks more used to the turbocharged pace of " Bayonetta 2" or the "Devil May Cry" series. It's a play style that's certainly more deliberate and requires patience, timing and thought. The game itself is an action RPG that echoes elements from others before it, with a little dash of Dark Souls here and a sprinkling of "Darksiders" there.

It's rarified gaming ground that "Lords of the Fallen" is now seeking to join as it releases on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. These days, the degree of difficulty for games in general have dipped so much that titles such as "Dark Souls" and "Monster Hunter" are known for being difficult instead of being just, well, good action games.
